The Boys & Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area is the region's leading youth development organization. BGCWP was founded in 2013 to put success within reach for our Club members and keep them on track to graduate from high school. We help members realize a positive plan for the future that includes good character, citizenship, and a healthy lifestyle.

Over 1,300 youth ages 5 to 17 have walked through our doors for our after school and summer programs. BGCWP is a safe haven for kids across the community who just need a safe, fun place to hang out when they're not in school. At our Clubs, youth are provided meals, strong role models, homework assistance, organized athletics, character development and access to the arts. At our Clubs, there's an opportunity for every kid to get involved and learn something new.

  • Miranda Lowry is the Unit Manager for BGCWP. Miranda has been with the Club for 4 years and has built positive relationships with every member that has walked through our doors. Miranda does everything she can to make sure each member becomes the best version of themselves.
  • Elisabeth Cawthon is the newest edition to team as our Program Director. She oversees programming at the Club and ensures that members are always engaged in safe, fun activities.
  • Aaron Evans is our Administrative Coordinator and a highly-valued member of our Leadership Team at BGC-WP.
  • Kenya Cook is the Site Director for BGCWP's Thayer Branch. Kenya has been a part of BGC-WP for almost 2 years. Kenya goes out of her way every day to make sure each member knows they're loved.

Youth Development Professionals

Our Youth Development Professionals (YDP's) are our front-line staff members. They get to work with each member that walks through our doors on a daily basis. Our YDP's plan and implement safe & fun programming every day. Each YDP has a specific program they facilitate at BGCWP that is tailored to their individual skills and talents. YDP's do everything from helping with homework to playing fun and interactive games with our kids.
